FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LONGWOOD, Florida (April 9, 2017) – A1 Assets and Vann Data Services are teaming up to host their tenth annual electronics recycling collection drive in Daytona Beach. This yearly event provides a valuable opportunity for residents and businesses of Volusia County to dispose of their old devices for free, with the peace of mind that their devices will be properly handled by the state’s leading certified electronics recycling company.
The collection drive will take place on Thursday, April 13th, between 10am-2pm, at the Vann Data headquarters located at 1801 Dunn Avenue in Daytona Beach. At this event, computers, servers, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, office equipment, batteries, stereo systems, circuit boards, and many more types of electronic devices will be accepted, to be properly processed by A1 Assets’ recycling specialists in accordance with the R2, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification standards. All data on any hard drives and embedded memory of donated electronics will be securely wiped in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines and organizational best practices.
“It is a privilege to be a part of this decade-long partnership with Vann Data to offer a direct avenue for the Daytona Beach community to properly discard their unwanted electronics,” said David Leavitt, President and CEO of A1 Assets. “At last year’s event, we had a very strong turnout with over 24,000 pounds of e-waste collected.”
“In the nine years Vann Data has offered this service to our community, we have collected over 98 tons of discarded computer equipment, reducing the amount of hazardous materials and electronic scrap in our landfill,” said Janice Huffstickler, President of Vann Data Services, Inc.
