FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LONGWOOD, Florida (June 1, 2015) – A1 Assets is now providing electronic recycling services for the largest municipality in the state of Florida. Earlier this year, we were chosen to become the e-waste downstream vendor for the city of Jacksonville, and our team has so far processed tens of thousands of computers, televisions, and other discarded devices in accordance with the stringent guidelines governed by the R2, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
Once the contract was finalized, A1 Assets staff immediately began undertaking a massive cleanup project at the city’s Household Hazardous Waste facility, where over time, a massive pile of old and discarded electronics had been building up, awaiting proper disposal. After the lot was cleared, the city was put onto a regular pickup schedule for the continued bulk collection of residents’ e-waste.
“This strategic partnership with the city of Jacksonville is recognition of the industry-leading capability of A1 Assets to handle such a large volume of electronics requiring recycling,” said David Leavitt, President and CEO of A1 Assets, Inc.
Since the beginning of 2015, A1 Assets has processed 160,354 pounds of electronic recyclables from the city of Jacksonville.
