Indian River County Launches First Electronic Recycling Drive, New Partnership with A1 Assets

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAKE MARY, Florida (July 20, 2018) – On Saturday, June 9th, A1 Assets and Indian River County hosted their first electronic recycling event together at the county’s Intergenerational Recreation Center. This event afforded an unprecedented opportunity for residents of Vero Beach and the surrounding areas to properly dispose of their old electronics and other household hazardous waste.

Indian River County is located in the Treasure Coast region of Florida, and has a cumulative population of approximately 150,000 residents. By choosing A1 Assets as their preferred electronic recycler, the Indian River County government now has a reliable and certified partner that they can entrust with the processing of their citizens’ e-waste.

While the turnout was slightly hampered due to some inclement weather early on, a total of 170 vehicles were counted during the event, and 4,742 pounds of electronic recyclables were collected.

“I am happy to report that we had another successful event this past weekend,” said Stephanie Fonvielle, Recycling Education and Marketing Coordinator of the Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District. “The weather held out for us, the traffic ran smoothly, all the volunteers and crews did a wonderful job and most importantly, we collected a wide assortment of HHW and electronics that have been kept out of the landfill.”

A1 Assets and subsidiary company Refresh Computers sponsored a computer raffle to commemorate the event, where all participants received complementary tickets for the drawing. Susie Jenkins was the winner of a professionally reconditioned HP ProBook laptop, which was loaded with Windows 10, Microsoft’s newest operating system. As a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, A1 Assets and Refresh Computers are able to prepare in-house refurbished business computer systems with Genuine editions of the latest Windows software.
