FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LONGWOOD, Florida (March 11, 2016) – On Saturday, February 27th, A1 Assets, American Textile Recycling Services, and Keep Orlando Beautiful teamed up to host an electronic and textile recycling drive at the Orlando Festival Park. At the event, residents of the greater Orlando area dropped off 14,275 pounds of electronic recyclables, and 676 pounds of household textiles!
“This event is part of the City’s continued efforts to be one of the most sustainable cities in America,” said Jody Buyas, Keep Orlando Beautiful Coordinator. “Through events like this, the City is providing innovative tools to help conserve, preserve and reuse valuable resources.”
This is the sixth year in a row that A1 Assets has partnered with Keep Orlando Beautiful to host a collection drive, and once again A1 Assets sponsored a raffle contest for all attendees who dropped off recyclables. Natalie Phillips was the winner of an 8″ Lenovo Tablet, provided by A1 Assets subsidiary Refresh Computers.
Also in attendance at the event was Kady McKenna, who at just 7 years old, founded the local community initiative eTreasure Inc. to collect and repurpose discarded electronics. Last year, A1 Assets partnered up with eTreasure Inc. to become their official recycling partner. More information about eTreasure Inc. can be viewed at: http://www.etreasure.us/
