FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LONGWOOD, Florida (July 25, 2014) – A1 Assets is honored to have been featured as an example of a certified electronics recycler by the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) in a focus tour about electronics recycling and data security.
In coordination with NAHMMA’s Florida chapter, A1 Assets CEO David Leavitt and president Andrew Hoopper led a group of NAHMMA members on a presentation to give insight on how discarded electronics are properly processed and recycled, in accordance with the strict guidelines governed by the R2 and ISO 14001 standards. The tour took place at A1 Assets’ 25,000 square foot facility in Longwood, where thousands of tons of computers and electronics are recycled or refurbished each year. Additionally, the tour made stops at the Seminole County and Orange County Household Hazardous Waste centers, which are both clients of A1 Assets and handle the intake of large quantities of materials from residents in the Central Florida region.
Andrew Hoopper also represented A1 Assets at the NAHMMA national conference, which was held at the Buena Vista Palace Resort and Spa in Orlando between August 18-21. A1 Assets has been a member of NAHMMA since 2013, and fully supports the organization’s values and commitment to environmental protection. Andrew stated, “As a leading certified electronics recycler, we are honored to support NAHMMA and all of their pollution prevention efforts. We continue to work with NAHMMA to increase awareness and offer solutions to the responsible handling of community generated e-waste.”
